Ranbir Kapoor And Vaani Kapoor Finally Start Prepping For Shamshera After A Year’s Delay
It’s almost a year after Yash Raj Films shared the first look of their upcoming dacoit drama titled Shamshera starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles. Despite the announcement being a year old, the film is yet to go on the floors, all thanks to Ranbir's choc-o-block schedule. The actor has been juggling between his personal and professional life; filming for Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra and looking after his father Rishi Kapoor who is undergoing treatment for cancer in New York. This film will completely take Ranbir out of his comfort zone and challenge him to another level.

Now after a year, Kapoor has taken a break from his hectic schedule and have started prepping for Shamshera. The duo is seen discussing with director Karan Malhotra on this film which is an action adventure. The duo will start rehearsing as going by the genre, we might experience a lot of action sequences being performed by the leads. While Ranbir plays a dacoit and probably a double role in the film, Vaani plays a dancer. Ranbir had mentioned in one of his media interactions that Shamshera will allow him to live his imagination onscreen, thus he is thoroughly excited about the project.

The makers have also roped in actor Sanjay Dutt to play antagonist. Director Karan had collaborated with Sanjay on 2012 hit remake of Agneepath. Discussing about sketching out such a strong on screen character, Karan said, "Shamshera is a ferocious and fearless character in the film. Therefore his nemesis, the villain had to be even more fierce and monumental in every aspect. Who better than Sanjay sir to give us that impact on screen?"

The motion poster unveiled by the production banner had close-up of Ranbir as Shamshera standing tall on the battle ground. Sharing the poster YRF's official Twitter handle wrote, "करम से डकैत,  धरम से आज़ाद
